Mum had her first chemo on Wednesday and it went as well as can be expected. </p><p>I have worked a bit on the Delovely skirt and am now so close to finishing - I think I would like to do one last repeat - about 10 rounds. I'm looking forward to having this done and then I can decide on the next project!!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9EUkwO9J9l9qhDwJyoLFvWz9L_eWZ5Pc7EZCBXjJ6jH43VvGiuZXWroH-DUu5qSelfc1g7WzXE7hTun2ypKw4XM64_S4WN8G-8xavwaJx4UsO0vbg-rzWJMRYd1t7rc2bnwWdfhtvYxyw35PeZyYPfaDTEybUdnJuX23HY-dKKcvncIIDNfpYQnHOreeR/s4608/20240317_200341.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2128" data-original-width="4608" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9EUkwO9J9l9qhDwJyoLFvWz9L_eWZ5Pc7EZCBXjJ6jH43VvGiuZXWroH-DUu5qSelfc1g7WzXE7hTun2ypKw4XM64_S4WN8G-8xavwaJx4UsO0vbg-rzWJMRYd1t7rc2bnwWdfhtvYxyw35PeZyYPfaDTEybUdnJuX23HY-dKKcvncIIDNfpYQnHOreeR/s320/20240317_200341.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>And that's the only project I have worked on - I have planted out some seedlings this morning, made some bread yesterday and a cake this afternoon. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpC3LwFYFAIg9PSHFffVKQpWdS1iutDe66YPp6-X4-pTD9GlP3RRAIdGzSyntx24sbo0yWLlMFszeQvrMXBg3XOD9DMSK0k-26Tjz0SU8r5iPL_1lb_sea_6pskHXcKD19fCdCHXx0D_Cfke-_9a3K29EJfHm7bAN3fhlxUOveJbKLJluayVDzl_vbi981/s4608/20240317_200446.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2128" data-original-width="4608" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpC3LwFYFAIg9PSHFffVKQpWdS1iutDe66YPp6-X4-pTD9GlP3RRAIdGzSyntx24sbo0yWLlMFszeQvrMXBg3XOD9DMSK0k-26Tjz0SU8r5iPL_1lb_sea_6pskHXcKD19fCdCHXx0D_Cfke-_9a3K29EJfHm7bAN3fhlxUOveJbKLJluayVDzl_vbi981/s320/20240317_200446.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Hopefully this week will go smoothly and I might get the skirt finished. We are holidaying there in the summer so we are preparing by having some Swedish evenings where we eat the food and practice some phrases.</p><p>Anyway - my aim this week is to take more photos and get round to commenting on the other blogs!</p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-17354336882693217952024-02-18T11:27:00.004+00:002024-02-18T11:27:44.820+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 33<p> So I said I would prepare a proper update this week, but it isn't to be. By the time I return home I will have to get us sorted for the week ahead so will not gave time to do it properly. </p><p>I have finished my jacket, but do not have a photo, so will post that next week. She was there for a week while they put in a bile duct stent and found a tumour. She is the sole carer for my dad who therefore, had to be put into respite care. Mum and dad live 4 hours away and so my brother stayed with her and looked after dad in those initial days. When she was due to come out she obviously needed someone there which was me. So I went to Somerset for last week to look after her. I returned Saturday morning and am going back at the end of this week for just a couple of days.</p><p>So all in all, its been a bit crazy and hence no update last week. This week is half term and so hopefully, I will be able to do a proper update next Sunday.</p><p>I hope everyone is well and has a good week. </p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-4535125197703008762024-01-28T12:21:00.001+00:002024-01-28T12:21:29.862+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 30<p> It has been a busy week here, what with moderators and parents evening. However, I have managed to get a bit done on my skirt and made good inroads to another project!</p><p>Firstly, we have had some lovely weather this weekend which makes a change from the wind of late! Therefore, I spent sometime in the garden yesterday. I carried out the big garden birdwatch and dug over the rest of the veg plot.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBDaXBSZ-DGz_qYtNw7gpZKhhY3AuT6Z41LqTJruEnCD3b4pP1N4KJomRSFU7qCVopHNrG4gdvuVzTJVOEwLObsZUYsmRaJXjEZiAWrufURf0PR6l_iGYx_ZkhIQupfLVCisS0l64g2YGzf7CcXCLd0ImsJxSS2WgoAEBWRrdXjfvqXdWEsKsdxatfEfZN/s2576/20240127_125930.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1188" data-original-width="2576" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBDaXBSZ-DGz_qYtNw7gpZKhhY3AuT6Z41LqTJruEnCD3b4pP1N4KJomRSFU7qCVopHNrG4gdvuVzTJVOEwLObsZUYsmRaJXjEZiAWrufURf0PR6l_iGYx_ZkhIQupfLVCisS0l64g2YGzf7CcXCLd0ImsJxSS2WgoAEBWRrdXjfvqXdWEsKsdxatfEfZN/s320/20240127_125930.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>It was a bit chilly first thing though!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpRQT_gGKM6nacXoMx3jHsIkDs6EHN6h4RYsJijKjxyHc9dQpOOBrumdE6qpwLiE8f9_7eSONTjeAbwjjP9jiRGU5tNU1Xykv2n_q4tVl0qdJjSr37NWcoy1Nvd049q9tanfoDRAMFc16qDhASHIRF5ayVlBK8Jp_70nhHb-u3zvmwtj5FL_vtaHnWm2V7/s4608/20240127_083522.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="2128" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpRQT_gGKM6nacXoMx3jHsIkDs6EHN6h4RYsJijKjxyHc9dQpOOBrumdE6qpwLiE8f9_7eSONTjeAbwjjP9jiRGU5tNU1Xykv2n_q4tVl0qdJjSr37NWcoy1Nvd049q9tanfoDRAMFc16qDhASHIRF5ayVlBK8Jp_70nhHb-u3zvmwtj5FL_vtaHnWm2V7/s320/20240127_083522.jpg" width="148" /></a></div><p>Having done that I got stuck into a new project which is a Vogue pattern jacket.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJryA_LIlGkW6jJnHF_Z-eZA8TD_RUSAszfsgPpFE9z39xy-Nj_3-exRGaSQIgZOelRYi_8IQpcNHdo1I-1L6LN7fP2krzqZ27BkLqp3rXfoTGMnG0UNTF9ohfHLMGPEYWfUBSUNO3JwWNfxudkZNbjDzwEJBD1VraZyVQ_AXTUSgpg_SU7XQHvlO3fuXU/s4608/20240128_120311.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="2128" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJryA_LIlGkW6jJnHF_Z-eZA8TD_RUSAszfsgPpFE9z39xy-Nj_3-exRGaSQIgZOelRYi_8IQpcNHdo1I-1L6LN7fP2krzqZ27BkLqp3rXfoTGMnG0UNTF9ohfHLMGPEYWfUBSUNO3JwWNfxudkZNbjDzwEJBD1VraZyVQ_AXTUSgpg_SU7XQHvlO3fuXU/s320/20240128_120311.jpg" width="148" /></a></div><p>It's coming together quite nicely although I want to pull in the side seams a bit and finish it inside with bias binding.</p><p>I have also made progress on my Delovely skirt and am nearly at the end of the first skein of yarn. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3M4nOypItsWnqh33-cm_02Ed66imhQ6qvy-j5-tn6DKGM6vbfeF3efuvbr2XitlYBCmpXtWS98WDHXmHWzzZC5nNVRRPkwqzoZBFrhyphenhyphentIv6IJ92vRQINBvEP3CUWNoaUl8IjZLpvNJpbpf1O4uhgV4dxF0BqcDbjTbafgJCEUIp9sKJOrhj9ylahbarsZ/s4608/20240128_120412.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2128" data-original-width="4608" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3M4nOypItsWnqh33-cm_02Ed66imhQ6qvy-j5-tn6DKGM6vbfeF3efuvbr2XitlYBCmpXtWS98WDHXmHWzzZC5nNVRRPkwqzoZBFrhyphenhyphentIv6IJ92vRQINBvEP3CUWNoaUl8IjZLpvNJpbpf1O4uhgV4dxF0BqcDbjTbafgJCEUIp9sKJOrhj9ylahbarsZ/s320/20240128_120412.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>And that is it for this last week - hopefully, this next week should be a little calmer!</p><p>Hope you all have a great week 😊 </p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-66819973012413179222024-01-21T13:56:00.001+00:002024-01-21T13:56:28.097+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 29<p> This week has flown by and little was done during the week. Next week is due to be a bit stressful, with the moderator coming to school for A level biology on Monday, the same day as my older sons birthday, and then later in the week it is his parents evening! So I don't foresee much being done this coming week either! At least it gets it all done!</p><p>Anyway, I do have a finish this week. The first pair of socks for the year. Knit in a skein from Eden Cottage that I got in their secret stash box a few years ago.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3joActwnif9gKbULAjpYJn3wmTIYlOatDbnbZiC1Zxks8LL6kzw55gMboHJMmASxPr84XPKWi0_jgZDQPfL1YZsSDe99PMPC97pyDDI0bzL1sJC6-hfLB67QF2UNDFiSeBZanWXMa-Jglal0beKCcE4xvz5U0NbwscVQC0-UMLY7WBnTkQ0S3Jlz5SgAr/s4608/20240121_132930.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2128" data-original-width="4608" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3joActwnif9gKbULAjpYJn3wmTIYlOatDbnbZiC1Zxks8LL6kzw55gMboHJMmASxPr84XPKWi0_jgZDQPfL1YZsSDe99PMPC97pyDDI0bzL1sJC6-hfLB67QF2UNDFiSeBZanWXMa-Jglal0beKCcE4xvz5U0NbwscVQC0-UMLY7WBnTkQ0S3Jlz5SgAr/s320/20240121_132930.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>I need to weave in the ends, but I consider them done.</p><p>I have also made some progress on Delovely.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP7aM7cAnrnlu2dwKtPzo4sAjev6zCjsHIycZwrtBmiduzR5QifhWxHeRVYLGeaakoEKWnU845ifTkB4hN62ARvgKpOvVzcEWBiQoENic05x795MVSFgwtlMQpKrfX7VFqvuHgqlcqyGjaHF2tRhJVIo7dHb4iVYi-WvNgU6wasGCCThwF6CIkogNkFtYb/s4608/20240121_133130.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="2128" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP7aM7cAnrnlu2dwKtPzo4sAjev6zCjsHIycZwrtBmiduzR5QifhWxHeRVYLGeaakoEKWnU845ifTkB4hN62ARvgKpOvVzcEWBiQoENic05x795MVSFgwtlMQpKrfX7VFqvuHgqlcqyGjaHF2tRhJVIo7dHb4iVYi-WvNgU6wasGCCThwF6CIkogNkFtYb/s320/20240121_133130.jpg" width="148" /></a></div><p>I have completed the waistband (that was knit in part back and forth) and have now joined in the round to start the hip increases. I made a chicken pie and a quiche, so that is two dinners sorted!</p><p>And so, that is that, I am not looking forward to the week ahead, the weather is supposed to be horrible with high winds (at least we no longer have the tree!) but by next weekend I will have done it all so that's what I'm aiming for!! Hope everyone has a great week. 😊</p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-56876339892453678822024-01-14T13:04:00.003+00:002024-01-14T13:04:49.274+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 28<p> Here we are in the longest month of the year!</p><p>I think I have been reasonably productive this week!</p><p>Firstly I made a list! I like a list (one of the reasons I am part of the YOP group) - but despite having the list I made on here as part of that group, I really like a hard copy, hand produced list - I'm a bit of a technophobe at heart. So I made this list</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3GlSlI9_tAWmvQgbotNhT3B80gzp9zcFifnOltW5nsHiN_4CL39j1uLHMRly02E1Hh9R7JbQM8AeGrdeUAbeVhx11J1JSypt5QaCr9_yZvTpRdFkaGb4ZMZHNonoOSurHgVuBdBFi_qVp5EYDzAkhBQKRu5HMvizhgicl6-aY2P9rYGaP32N3Tv2kxIOU/s2660/20240114_123509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2660" data-original-width="1868" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3GlSlI9_tAWmvQgbotNhT3B80gzp9zcFifnOltW5nsHiN_4CL39j1uLHMRly02E1Hh9R7JbQM8AeGrdeUAbeVhx11J1JSypt5QaCr9_yZvTpRdFkaGb4ZMZHNonoOSurHgVuBdBFi_qVp5EYDzAkhBQKRu5HMvizhgicl6-aY2P9rYGaP32N3Tv2kxIOU/s320/20240114_123509.jpg" width="225" /></a></div><p>Anyway, of these projects, I have made progress on my socks.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1R5y3s1SPaOx0mMvcwfV06PmFXl_stlkbb7kse7OrI1V0RNxbmALT1k30et2B9FjfnFHkPoSeeQ5GubJXC_zZjUMe0vkZPReqHPWVHlKkx_OvmPVFNpveMDYkP73dbzc-5zLFzCnhTH46UI7_m47PFMroKdMTLQL5YVoTfGyiWQtUZ3hlK5Zpc6I1Tz_J/s2598/20240114_123824.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="2598" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1R5y3s1SPaOx0mMvcwfV06PmFXl_stlkbb7kse7OrI1V0RNxbmALT1k30et2B9FjfnFHkPoSeeQ5GubJXC_zZjUMe0vkZPReqHPWVHlKkx_OvmPVFNpveMDYkP73dbzc-5zLFzCnhTH46UI7_m47PFMroKdMTLQL5YVoTfGyiWQtUZ3hlK5Zpc6I1Tz_J/s320/20240114_123824.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>I have turned the heel and now making my way up the leg - so going well! This is a yarn from Eden Cottage yarn and I'm using the blueberry waffle pattern.</p><p>I have also cast on the Delovely skirt in Yarnadelic by John Arbon Textiles - I haven't got too far yet!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz2eco6GehYS5sBSTbQRg4C0Z60VZOAzR0oA2UZn9L13DFeQIoGS1PF1rO6QACzt056t6YasotSvCjPOXAm3-JY54u56blzYzm80ltuTtfM-N3GX6-zUW3_fe-Wi64_tHrJJaBJq1ft4X8pkNVNVAXcEuTR7pGLw5dWtOG2IJEULuNTcbQgOMkZ_lYmQqM/s2129/20240114_123715.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2128" data-original-width="2129" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz2eco6GehYS5sBSTbQRg4C0Z60VZOAzR0oA2UZn9L13DFeQIoGS1PF1rO6QACzt056t6YasotSvCjPOXAm3-JY54u56blzYzm80ltuTtfM-N3GX6-zUW3_fe-Wi64_tHrJJaBJq1ft4X8pkNVNVAXcEuTR7pGLw5dWtOG2IJEULuNTcbQgOMkZ_lYmQqM/s320/20240114_123715.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>Otherwise, I did a bit more in the garden and made some bread and butternut squash soup for the week. I used to be into making bread but stopped for quite a while. It didn't help, that I was using up old yeast that I had bought in bulk, which wasn't working. Now I have new yeast and hope to get the bug back again!</p><p>I also cut the fabric for a little jacket, so hope to get that started this week.</p><p>I think that is it - now to put the dinner on! I hope everyone has a great week!</p><p><br /></p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-40102319652295814552024-01-07T17:14:00.000+00:002024-01-07T17:14:13.082+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 27<p> First week back at school and, of course, my productivity has taken a hit!</p><p>That said, I do have a finished object and plans are afoot for the next. </p><p>My Tolsta tee is done.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2YDT386-0bC1-mHpz8Ss3MIRDKRU_OmVaqHBDj5I1hAo991hRyNHXIpjcJ4YA3MPY57cU3ICrMtscicXl6P2bkSE2SM-61RzknlfjzOkG753ayX8AJKfRNM2duEBdjIWZ4EGfDib3Xm8Hr4YdExg0s3-ZH8EcPncmXoNs5ATbMGRj_zgWddVY_FWotq3/s4608/20240107_133103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="2128" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2YDT386-0bC1-mHpz8Ss3MIRDKRU_OmVaqHBDj5I1hAo991hRyNHXIpjcJ4YA3MPY57cU3ICrMtscicXl6P2bkSE2SM-61RzknlfjzOkG753ayX8AJKfRNM2duEBdjIWZ4EGfDib3Xm8Hr4YdExg0s3-ZH8EcPncmXoNs5ATbMGRj_zgWddVY_FWotq3/s320/20240107_133103.jpg" width="148" /></a></div><p>Forgive the hair and leggings! I had just come in from the garden. This is knit in a set from Lay Family Yarn and I really like it - I see more in my future - perhaps a lacy one next time?</p><p>So what next? I still have my Hitchenbrook on the needles, but I think that is a project to get finished by next winter. I also still have a pair of socks on the needles which I will pick up again later.</p><p>I recently joined the Squid school of vintage knitting on Patreon and she has a skirt pattern from just over a year ago, called the Delovely skirt. So that is my next project. I have the yarn - Yarnadelic by John Arbon Textiles. And... I am currently doing ....a guage swatch!! I never do these! But to get the stitch counts I really have to. So, for the first time ever, I am! Anyway, by next week, I hope to have it on the needles and will show you how I am doing then.</p><p>I have also been in the garden today. I dug over one strip of the veg patch and dug up the brambles in another (very small) area - there is still lots more to go. But I have knit cardboard over it to try to suppress the weeds for a moment.</p><p>And that is that. The weather's supposed to be improving for a couple of weeks - less rain and colder - which is how I like it! I hope everyone has a lovely week. 😍 </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-18190519997002624782023-12-31T16:23:00.001+00:002023-12-31T16:23:19.760+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 26<p> And another year draws to an end. This is my 50th year! I have been working my way through 50 things this year. I've not achieved them all but I have done a lot and more! Anyway that is a different post.</p><p>In terms of my projects, I have done a bit this week, especially since a couple of days were spent with my parents. Whilst there, I continued my Christmas eve cast on. These are my first pair of socks for the 24 in 24 (or 12 pairs). I have no doubt that I will not be able to make 24 socks but I shall but try! I wear knitted socks almost every day that I am not wearing a dress or skirt, so the ones I have are starting to look a bit tired. Now 6 years later, this area is in need of a bit of love again. Last year I spent very little time in the garden - we'd had two big trees come down which we had dealt with, but it left us with one big tree that was hard to get to and growing at a horrible angle over next door and so was a constant source of anxiety. </p><p>But in this last month, a lovely man called Mark has been over and sorted it out - he cleared a patch of bramble and removed two problem trees for us.</p><p>Before:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjexHB0yEFlACBurFxuW99P6sp4k0J6IDI6DZKudErLENDTb2cI0YmCyCkRg8sZoD-eo4GfQmBsHxbPSmGJ4iFOrvIYtqW0O3WHzIBEToFNV4x5tT33_-EQjL_Vr3gSHrD1v7P18ORxthxJxizX88_IXTzFuoVHoDlitpeT2A9xCbiK2fIzpmThRQCtxcgD/s1640/IMG-20231207-WA0002.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="738" data-original-width="1640" height="144" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjexHB0yEFlACBurFxuW99P6sp4k0J6IDI6DZKudErLENDTb2cI0YmCyCkRg8sZoD-eo4GfQmBsHxbPSmGJ4iFOrvIYtqW0O3WHzIBEToFNV4x5tT33_-EQjL_Vr3gSHrD1v7P18ORxthxJxizX88_IXTzFuoVHoDlitpeT2A9xCbiK2fIzpmThRQCtxcgD/s320/IMG-20231207-WA0002.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div>After:<div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCdU5pnPLDMv4rk0EIxesasjkG05PkTyBaT7DyGwk4_NVWI8uK_L0MMzz5UNZUcKeCgVq9QhyphenhyphenuyG-Hu45OYZh8kMYgvgTxwTk4Sf8s7Ma4SkUR3bp4jTsIsi53sJcYxorsjY8hNdEff2b6_snX2lLh54eA9pD1zXRP6oOm1sL3hu744N04Vxhxs3wI0Jic/s2000/IMG-20231207-WA0003.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="2000" height="144" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCdU5pnPLDMv4rk0EIxesasjkG05PkTyBaT7DyGwk4_NVWI8uK_L0MMzz5UNZUcKeCgVq9QhyphenhyphenuyG-Hu45OYZh8kMYgvgTxwTk4Sf8s7Ma4SkUR3bp4jTsIsi53sJcYxorsjY8hNdEff2b6_snX2lLh54eA9pD1zXRP6oOm1sL3hu744N04Vxhxs3wI0Jic/s320/IMG-20231207-WA0003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div>My mind is whirring! I have been following Jazzy Rose Flowers (the lady behind Sew Over It) and, although I have no intention of making it my living. I have been really inspired by what she has done with her land.</div><div>Things that I did do this last year that were successful, even though I thoroughly neglected it, were our raspberry patch and the potatoes. So with that in mind I want to continue with a few vegetables and the raspberries. But I would like to revamp this back patch - create a seating area with the tree stumps - add a second compost heap and second water butt - but mainly to dig over the main patch and divide into a patch for vegetables and patch for cut flowers.</div><div>So these are my immediate tasks - I shall report back when I start to do these things!<br /><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p></div>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-33586292391241151412023-12-17T20:04:00.001+00:002023-12-17T20:04:06.062+00:00A Year of Projects - week 24<p> We have broken up! It's been a hard term, so this is a very welcome break.</p><p>I've made progress on my Tolsta tee this week, and have split for the sleeves. It's now just round and round for a while. No photos this week as it is too dark!</p><p>I have also done a few rows on the Hitchenbrook and a few rounds on a sock I found!</p><p>We went to Glow Wild at a local garden on Friday night which was magical and I do have a few photos of that!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbDfBqtiYrVcb9_3bYm1jalZjtoRnIRoRNrdOXK9sIex9L_tDPJ6D83Dwh47uZsxhdLmzUFJ-66qU-u7D53ZYa_EatqENja8DZ4hEteLbAWEbpItzMN5A7F16tarTEasRz3VckXHBabfCyLvYD-VkfamK9CmKtAZiB5hsS1Dl1A-gwvgt32o6-ePnnbhst/s4608/20231215_191715.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="2128" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbDfBqtiYrVcb9_3bYm1jalZjtoRnIRoRNrdOXK9sIex9L_tDPJ6D83Dwh47uZsxhdLmzUFJ-66qU-u7D53ZYa_EatqENja8DZ4hEteLbAWEbpItzMN5A7F16tarTEasRz3VckXHBabfCyLvYD-VkfamK9CmKtAZiB5hsS1Dl1A-gwvgt32o6-ePnnbhst/s320/20231215_191715.jpg" width="148" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1l1APO7JxRI1f5Bx0MlMfKG_pgvbTj1p6HHxG0HpL0MYBg1pvec1QkUmqjtKmcwCqsCtnz-0lFX6d2lc3yKwsBROj6cpkvnoSimUbWkd7HPdcjw-v6SzgbSFJQy4DGeAiSogYdBU-lNJP3vIkOi5TEWP7t6ehvemc9cFNpFcmaVQsGBfLzL_fALFG14Kj/s2576/20231215_192120.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1188" data-original-width="2576" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1l1APO7JxRI1f5Bx0MlMfKG_pgvbTj1p6HHxG0HpL0MYBg1pvec1QkUmqjtKmcwCqsCtnz-0lFX6d2lc3yKwsBROj6cpkvnoSimUbWkd7HPdcjw-v6SzgbSFJQy4DGeAiSogYdBU-lNJP3vIkOi5TEWP7t6ehvemc9cFNpFcmaVQsGBfLzL_fALFG14Kj/s320/20231215_192120.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>Today I spent a good few hours in our garden. I have somewhat neglected it this year. We had three big trees in the garden - two fell in the last 5 years and we were left with one which was starting to rot. We had a company over to quote for felling it, but it was so expensive we couldn't afford it. So for the past 18 months I have been constantly worrying about it falling which has really put me off spending time outside. Anyway, a few weeks ago, next door had a few trees cut down and I spoke to the guy. He agreed to do it as part of his training - as a tree surgeon! Short story is that the tree is now gone and I feel so different about the garden and have grand plans for this year! There is a lot of tidying to do right now, but I can hopefully put in a few hours this holiday and start to get it ready for next year.</p><p>And that is my week. I hope everyone has a great week.</p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-79999781315556794942023-12-10T16:37:00.001+00:002023-12-10T16:37:26.759+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 23<p> It is definitely beginning to look like Christmas here. That is a project from Pompom magazine. I read this week that Pompom is stopping trading which is very sad - I have subscribed for years, but the costs of production have become too much and they are ceasing trading.</p><p>On a similarish note, the founder of one of my favourite sewing companies, Sew Over It has stepped down. The company is still going, but Lisa has started a new venture into cut flowers 💐. Jazzy Rose Flowers is her new company and I decided to try a box of her Chysanthemums. These are the last she is doing this year so thought I would take advantage and they are gorgeous. They were picked packaged and sent in a day and I am very impressed. I wish I lived a little nearer so that I could pop into her potting shed which she has as an honesty shop for her flowers!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMqjL2-eZskWPgHoKUxcemgjCyFcLZGXA-HpCzFtURUWOqN4FUFhD33HHVN6qrUDwGSqPF1FQreMRiOlC8Wf-bWV5_vBMhNKPLEKPcWIFMIwlTxJOaRgjCdsbelG63AtmDFEdTSWJPMRgg-Nk3TFp0KauV2BjK_ZbHSuJDPNMjLoWILbIHIaFzKAe1fK8U/s2388/20231105_070423.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2388" data-original-width="2128" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMqjL2-eZskWPgHoKUxcemgjCyFcLZGXA-HpCzFtURUWOqN4FUFhD33HHVN6qrUDwGSqPF1FQreMRiOlC8Wf-bWV5_vBMhNKPLEKPcWIFMIwlTxJOaRgjCdsbelG63AtmDFEdTSWJPMRgg-Nk3TFp0KauV2BjK_ZbHSuJDPNMjLoWILbIHIaFzKAe1fK8U/s320/20231105_070423.jpg" width="285" /></a></div><p>Anyway, that is about that - I have been baking cakes apple pie and a quiche yesterday, so today is just ironing and knitting!</p><p>Hope you all have a lovely week.</p><p> </p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1962368290972698772.post-6765824655899050952023-10-29T16:57:00.000+00:002023-10-29T16:57:03.457+00:00A Year of Projects Update - week 17<p> It has been such a lovely week here. The weather has not been quite as bad as forecast and we managed to do one or two things out of the house! Although, lots was done inside as well!</p><p>Firstly I finished my mittens - just in time I feel. For anyone that that doesn't know, that is the government's way of checking our schools. Inspectors come in for a few days and check every aspect of what we do and although we do it very well in my school, it is still quite stressful! We won't know the outcome for a little while either.</p><p>Also, we went to Brands Hatch last Sunday for the season finale of the touring cars. It was a lovely day both weather wise and racing wise.</p><p>But that meant no post. I do have progress to show this week though and it is only one week until our half term break!</p><p>I have made good progress on both the mittens </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL2QCA4flBzYqyZdMYLR4eGY4XVDU67YqM46xYweVugLAWjLRuTgdWub8KLQXXpmAx8QR6_bz_NNYnwDD-5JyvmMeEv508-Wmaq2xHBuwYEMfjzRN03zQTGY29v8XISF5qnDnZXM706zwnhwHJtr9pYfJwXjxkFWuifjzGpZsIJT-AVr8C-GPjdBrm7fX8/s4608/20231015_081001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2128" data-original-width="4608" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL2QCA4flBzYqyZdMYLR4eGY4XVDU67YqM46xYweVugLAWjLRuTgdWub8KLQXXpmAx8QR6_bz_NNYnwDD-5JyvmMeEv508-Wmaq2xHBuwYEMfjzRN03zQTGY29v8XISF5qnDnZXM706zwnhwHJtr9pYfJwXjxkFWuifjzGpZsIJT-AVr8C-GPjdBrm7fX8/s320/20231015_081001.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>Badger Creek from Pompom magazine. </p><p>And the scarf</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2A-Dw0lYwMhu3j7dtDbWZLxmU9IKpubUTEXj7ouhzX08TnCBD6fXt41-uMf76PNrNTo6HxyhoGUPWEM5nyJldgabYHPhdvZlAwQGzi-mkFxs5bp7kLaeTt1i9zJmSff_hxFkfIkvTiostsOR0ex4krAtveV29qi0aCaHhcIzndoNYywB8QFP-_eMnOVTA/s4608/20231015_080928.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2128" data-original-width="4608" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2A-Dw0lYwMhu3j7dtDbWZLxmU9IKpubUTEXj7ouhzX08TnCBD6fXt41-uMf76PNrNTo6HxyhoGUPWEM5nyJldgabYHPhdvZlAwQGzi-mkFxs5bp7kLaeTt1i9zJmSff_hxFkfIkvTiostsOR0ex4krAtveV29qi0aCaHhcIzndoNYywB8QFP-_eMnOVTA/s320/20231015_080928.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>Golden Grass again from Pompom. </p><p>Both are being knit in stash yarn - the mittens from some leftover Zwartbles by John Arbon and the scarf from de Rerum Natura. </p><p>And that is all the crafting. text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL2zD52a-PdNUHaNclR3l2-Hf1v_ErCR9Wr0x5LQ6CGAP_pdvaUFtMp9uxsZaS-edOvV_KSDacrlMRbTWg6rPmC-DsER1sbtvH0YJTuKsUGFvToqYHLZ1Q0A1krLf7wj3X0sSkqICoHsN7Vq6Vmv0_lJdXFVsDGJI029apgJvGBN_ggCis2rbfYH1NFc7P/s4608/16955528214526058678180859648983.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Once I have finished the tie, I only have a bit of finishing - mainly a little seaming and then it is done. </p><p>So hopefully next week I should have a little more to show. I have recieved the next Pompom magazine and there are some beautiful accessories in this edition - namely, hat, mittens and scarf which I quite fancy now that the days are getting colder. And I have yarn in stash to do them!</p><p>Anyway that is all for this week, have a great week, everyone.</p><p><br /></p>Lucy Bowenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11910653399470977610noreply@blogger.com6
