Yarnalong - Mid term break

I have made it to the mid term break, relatively unscathed!
I have several projects on the needles at the moment.
Firstly, socks for Thomas.  This is his second pair and I am using up some Arne and Carlos yarn by Regia. I am doing a plain vanilla sock and will do a FLKH.
Secondly, socks for me - of course.  These are the march sock club socks from The Knitting Goddess. The pattern is called Dalez (by Rachel Coopey) and the yarn is the added Violet colourway.
I am still making my way through Boxy - I am on the inches and inches of stockinette.  I am hoping that I might be able to get to the sleeves before the first.
I am also reading the Yokes book by Kate Davies which is gorgeous.  I read an article in The Knitter magazine about the Bohus Stickning style of knitting which I loved.  Following on from that led me to this book and as a result I am about to start a KAL with the Yarniacs Podcast called the colors of fall KAL as the jade wool I bought from Coldharbour Mill a couple of months ago to knit Buchanan with is perfect for that.
On the first I am casting on Zinone by Andi Satterlund as part of her outfit along 2016.  I will be making a Dominique skirt by Tilly and The Buttons to accompany it.
I spelt Andi's name very wrong in this photo (apologies again!)  I can't wait to get this underway.

A Year of Projects Update - week 48

I have finally made it to the mid term break!  We have no plans, just going to do things as the mood takes us and I have lots of crafty plans.

For this past week though I have some progress.
FO's
Thomas's socks are done.  I used the plain socks pattern, just 1 x 1 ribbing, 3 x 1 down the leg, followed by a fish lips kiss heel and a square toe.
I have subsequently cast on a second pair for him in my Arne and Carlos sock yarn that I had left over.

WIP's
I did a little on Boxy and some more on the Christmas hat, but not so much that you need to see!
I also finally cast on my March sock club socks - pattern is Dalez and yarn is by Knitting Goddess, colourway is added violet.
I also planned my outfit along
I got the yarn from Eden Cottage last week and found the fabric in stash.  However, as the top is a neutral I think I will still go to Brighton and get some more exciting fabric for a second skirt!

Acquisitions
I took possession of some new progress keepers this week - you can see them on the socks - little teapots (I got some sheep too)

We are so close to the end of the YOP year - I am hoping to spend this week starting to get my round up together and plan that new list.  To join us come over here.

A Year of Projects Update - week 47

We have all been a little under the weather this week.  But it hasn't stopped the crafting.
FO's
I finished my no nylon socks in the Knitting Goddess Wensleydale and Polwarth.  I followed the blueberry waffle pattern for the first time and this was lovely, nice and easy but interesting.  I also did a fish lips kiss heel and did a rounded toe.
I also finished my peeping cowl by Joji Locatelli.  I loved this pattern and the yarn is devine (a merino cashmere blend) - I'm looking forward to being able to wear this.

WIP's
As a result my WIP's are the same and I have not worked on them.  I have the Donder and blitzen hat, Thomas's second sock and Boxy to work on this week.  I have wound my yarn to cast on my second sock club sock - Dalez (as I don't want to not have a sock otn!)

Acquisitions
Every year I say to myself I will not do the outfit along with Andi Satterland, and every year I change my mind.  This year is no exception.  She has just released Zinone to go with the outfit along and I love it, so I have ordered yarn ( a lovely BFL/silk from Eden Cottage) and will be going to Brighton to get some fabric in a couple of weeks to make a second Dominique skirt to go with it.

A Year of Projects Update - Week 46

Oh, we have been busy this week!  Having been to Thruxton last week for the whole of Sunday, my school had OFSTED in on Tuesday (this is a day in which the school inspectors come in to rate the school for those that don't know) and it was my little boy's birthday on Friday.
I have not neglected my knitting!
HO
I finished one of Thomas's socks and have started the next.
WIP's
I have made progress on peeping cowl - omg I love this and in cashmere it is splendid!
I have also done lots to my socks.  This yarn is gorgeous and I can't wait to wear these.  I am using the blueberry waffle sock pattern which is fabulous and the fish lips kiss heel which I am loving.

Acquisitions
I recieved these this week
These are destined for project bags in the summer.
And finally my little man - he was ill all Friday night but still insisted on his party going ahead - love him so much!!
Join us in our group on Ravelry - we are here.

A Year of Projects Update - Week 45

A have a FO!
FO's
My Arne and Carlos socks are finished!  And delightful they are too if I say so myself.

I made up my own pattern as the yarn did everything else for me.  I tried the fish lips kiss heel  for the first time and loved it.
WIP's
My boxy is untouched.  But I made lots of progress on peeping Cowl by Joji Locatelli.
This feels gorgeous and I can't wait to get it finished even if summer has arrived here!
I have also made lots of progress on the two pairs of socks I CO last week.
Thomas's socks
and my no nylon KAL socks.  This is a yarn by the knitting Goddess and it is lovely - really nice and soft but doesn't look like it should pill too much.
Acquisitions
I broke any yarn diet I might be pretending I am on this week.  I took receipt of some 100% British wool to be the accent colours in the 2 sweaters by Kate Davies that I want to CO - Buchanan and Epistrophy (these are likely to be on my next years list so I will link there!)
While I was on the website I couldn't help but purchase some of the new cocktail sock yarn by west Yorkshire Spinners as you do.
To see what everyone is up to - join us here.

A Year of Projects Update - week 44

We have a bank holiday weekend here in the UK, and, for the moment at least, the weather is nice!
We spent a bit of time at the British wildlife center yesterday.  We got membership a couple of weeks ago and so have been spending a little time there.
FO's
I finished the test knit yesterday, it has been blocked and finished and photos taken.  Only teaser shots at the moment, but it is likely to be published soon, so I will be able to show all then.
WIP's
I still have all the same WIP's as I had last week as I have been pretty monogamous with the test knit.  I am, however, going to add two more to the list as I want to cast on the socks for the no nylon KAL and Thomas has announced he wants some socks as well, so who am I to question?
Acquisitions
The yarn diet went horribly wrong this week!  I ordered some yarn from The Knitting Goddess as they had a sale,
and I got the next installment of the sock club,

and I got some more stitch markers, that I am sure will be on one of my next projects,
and I got a book from Kate Davies - Yokes.

I have had a quick look through the book and I think I love them all, so I will be planning my next projects soon - watch this space!
The new year of projects year will be soon upon us, come and join us here.
