A Year of Projects Update - week 19

I am late this week.  I have not had a great week, suffering from vertigo for some of last week for it to go away over the weekend, only to return again today.  I am waiting for a doctors appointment at the moment.  It's not life or death, but unpleasant nonetheless.

I was able to do some knitting.
I finished my Let's make it to Blackpool - Strictly socks in the week.
These are in the blueberry waffle pattern and made in some Owl About Yarn that I have had in stash for a little while.
I have since cast on some Christmas socks with Stranded Dyeworks yarn in the Naughty list colourway.
I made a little progress on my Rugged Coat.
I also picked up my Hufflepuff scarf and did some more.  I am nearly finished with this this, it just needs a few more rows, ends tied in and some tassels and we are done.
And here are my Delftig mitts - the second one.
Also while in bed last week I decided I really wanted to make a magic ball of yarn from my scraps, which I did, but then did not know what to do with it.  I considered a memory blanket, but know I would never finish it and then I would have to cut my magic ball. I considered a granny stripe or square blanket, but then I would have to teach myself and then no guarantees that I would enjoy it.  So I decided upon knitting, garter stitch, starting with 5 stitches and increasing each row until it is a size I like.  That way I can start and stop whenever I like and I know where I am!
Hopefully next week I will be back to normal - hope you all have a great week.

  1. Feel better soon! I hope it’s something simple and easily treated.

The more I see your Delftig mitts, the more I love them. They are going to be fabulously warm!

  2. Oh Lucy! I'm sorry you've been sick. Is vertigo new to you or is it something you've dealt with before? It can be a wicked condition - you have my sympathies and empathies.

    Your projects are all beautiful.

  3. Wow....you did quite a bit even with vertigo. I hope you find relief soon from it. I too have a ball of scrap yarn. I am thinking of doing socks with it. Now that I have seen your idea, I may change my mind.

  5. You poor thing! I had it once and once is more than enough! People thought I was drunk (not that I ever imbibe that much) . I was okay behind the wheel and I stopped at the store on the way home to get a few groceries and the only thing that save me was hanging on to the grocery cart! LOL! It was pretty awful and I can't remember what caused it or what causes it. I hope you are better soon!
Great idea about the blanket and it looks great! I need to make some Magic Balls of yarn or one as I want to make some scrappy socks or something scrappy.
Your socks are pretty in the purple yarn and the Rugged is just turning out gorgeous. I want to try stranded color work mittens...there was a pattern called Pumpkin Spice Latte which I am bound and determined to make but not until after Christmas. Why do scarves take so long? I am always amazed and so I steer away from them plus the grands need ski masks....they would lose a scarf probably..lol! I love them! Take care and see a doctor A.S.A.P. They must have a cure as I recovered! LOL!

  6. Oh Lucy, feel better soon. Although not life threatening Vertigo is extremely unpleasant and everyday tasks become impossible! Love the finished socks and I can't wait to see Naughty List knit up, I've been thinking of purchasing a skein. Great progress on all the other projects also. What a great idea for your scraps, will you make the square into a blanket? While on the hunt for yarn for my latest sock cast on I came across all my scraps, I've still not thought about what I want to do with them all, so they sit. I too don't like the idea of a memory blanket in squares, I like you may but my thinking cap on to come up with something different.

  7. Sorry you haven’t been feeling well, vertigo is so unpleasant. I don’t know how you juggle so many projects at the same time...I haven’t even tried having 2 on the go yet.
