A Year of Projects Update - week 3

Last week I posted the FO's from the previous few weeks.  Today I'm going to share my WIP's and some purchases that have come my way!
My WIP'S consist of:

  • My second Breathing Space.  I am knitting this in some gorgeous wool from the Wool Kitchen.  This is merino silk in the merpeople colourway.

I am onto the ribbing on the body, and then I only have the sleeves to go!

  • I have cast on the lacy shoulders tee.  I am knitting this in Rowan Summerlite 4ply, which is stunning.  It is a cotton yarn which is fabulous, nothing like anything I've used before.

  • My socks.  These are coming along  although not as fast as I would like!  I have been studying my box of sock yarn and been dreaming of the next pair!  As a result I have put some time in on these this week.

  • I have my skirt as my last wip.  This another project I have not worked on in a while but I will get back to it!

I have got a few purchases from the last weeks!
Two batches of yarn from Eden Cottage, one for the antiquity-blouse (not pictured) and one for the Cornhill scarf.

I also got two packages from John Arbon Textiles.  One, I'm going to use for the forest berry jacket, the other I'm not decided yet.

I bought some wool to make a weaving with, from Wild Woven.  Here it is amongst some minis!

And finally, I was tempted and gave in to some yarn from Kate Seline.

I am going to make up my own advent calendar this year from my minis, which I am then going to use in the battenburg blanket.
So there we have it!  All of my FOs last week and WIP's this week.  Next week will be back to normal!
It's our last part week of homeschooling this week.  Daniel has finished and me and Thomas have until Wednesday.   Then cleaning and tidying will commence!
I hope you all have a great week.

  1. Your new breathing space sounds like it’s going to be wonderful with the merino silk yarn and the colour is GORGEOUS! I’m going to love that when it’s finished. That is so spooky you said about making your own yarn advent, I’d been thinking of doing my own 12 days of Christmas minis as dyeing practice and thought I’d add them to a project with last year’s advent. You must be soooo ready for your summer break to start. Your purchased look great. I’m a fan of John Arbon and I am going to google the Rowan cotton yarn you’ve mentioned. Sounds interesting.

  3. ooh, I am such a sucker for skeins of yarn - those berry coloured ones look particularly amazing! I have two balls of Rowan summerlite which were for a project that I really don't know when I'll start (if ever), but will dig them up.
What pattern are you using for your skirt?

  4. Your sweater is so pretty. I'd like to knit a summer sweater, but I do find wool itchy and I worry that cotton will stretch.
Love all your yarn acquisitions. That Kate Selene yarn is really something...but I'm not paying for shipping from the UK. It is too pricey!

  5. What pretty yarns you've recently acquired, Lucy. I'm still loving that yarn and colorway you're making your Breathing Space in. And now you've got me curious about the Rowan cotton yarn. Thanks for putting it on my radar.

  6. Oh dear, all that lovely yarn, it makes me want to rush out and buy some more, too. I'm glad to hear Antiquity Blouse is already in the planning phase, I'm so looking forward to seeing it come to life.

  7. Your breathing space is so pretty and really coming along. The lacy shoulders tee and the Rowan yarn look fabulous. I might have to try some of that yarn! Are those scrappy socks you're making from leftovers? So cute! Your skirt is going to be so pretty in that rich color. Eden Cottage is really tempting me as I love their yarns and the Kate Seline is gorgeous! You lucky duck! Have a great week enjoy your tidying up!

  8. Your sweaters are lovely, and so are the socks. What a good idea to make up your own advent kit. hmmmm. Maybe I will do that with some of my handspun? Thanks for the idea.

  9. The Christmas advent calendar is a nice idea! I've always wanted to do one. The chocolate calendars are not very meaningful (I like a more Biblical and Christ-centered advent), but the kids think they are good, well yummy... And we wrapped up mostly old, but a few new books and would unwrap one each day. That was fun!
I bet your merpeople top will be SO comfy with the soft natural fibers.

  11. Your WIP's are all so pretty. Breathing Space is done in my favorite color but the Lacey Shoulder Tee is a pattern I have had earmarked for over a year. Nice to hear about the rowan yarn you are using. Anything cotton is welcomed in my part of the world LOL. Your acquisitions are fantastic. The Kate Seline yarn is super pretty! I don't think I could have resisted it either.
