A Year of Projects Update - week 31

I missed last week.  A combination of having no progress of note and it was my older son's birthday.  We took him to Southampton on Saturday, so that Darren could take him to see his team play football and me and Daniel spent the rest of the day with my friend that I haven't seen for years.  It was lovely but was a long day and no crafting was done.

This week hasn't seen much done - I had a parents evening on Wednesday and although they are now virtual so I can do it at home, it again made for a very long day.

I have managed a bit of progress on my Susurrus over the past two weeks and here it is now.

Please excuse the light - it is still early here!
I am knitting this from two yarns from Countess Ablaze - a fingering alternated with a lace silk mohair.  I love how it looks but it is taking a while at the moment  (although I'm not in a hurry - there are of course, other projects I now have in mind!)
And that, again  is it for this week.  Today I hope to get in the garden for a bit having done a bit of baking yesterday and going for a walk.
I hope everyone has a good week.

  1. I love that claret red colour. You’ve got me thinking it’s probably getting to around the time I should start checking on the garden

  2. That’s coming together nicely. I’m afraid to go into my garden, I didn’t leave it in the best of states when I abandoned it in November. I might plan a bit more before I tackle it.

  3. I like the colors you have for your jumper. Looks like you added quite a bit in the past two weeks.

  4. Just love your jumper. So is the red stripe just mohair? Do you have to use a larger needle for those lace stripes? (I'll have to check back as replies don't connect to wordpress bloggers).

  5. The what look like red, stripes are the fingering and the lilac is the mohair and no need to change needles - I think the 'fluffiness' makes up for the needles size! It is a lovely knit and I will try to get a better picture in better light next week!

  6. Oh my I remember how exhausting parent/teacher meetings were. I am happy to hear yours are done, and I hope you got the well deserved break in the garden.

  7. Happy birthday to your son.
I don't miss those long days with parent conferences. I still can't believe they expected us to work until 8:30 p.m and be at our desks by 7:30 am. No wonder there is a teacher shortage!

  9. My daughter, the teacher just got done with report cards and conferences so I know what you mean. I love your sweater and the colors are so luscious! Is it time for gardening already? We're supposed to get snow this week! Take care!
