A Year of Projects - the plan!

So, it that time again.
This is my favorite part of the year - I love planning!  It probably won't bear much resemblance to what I make by this time next year  but I am good with that!
I am going to keep my general theme of the past three years,  which is to prepare for Me Made May  - but I am going to extend it to a generally handmade wardrobe.  I did a bit of a make nine board earlier in the year, so my list is based on that.

Knitting

  • Sweaters
  • Soorik - Rav link started last YOP year
  • Festive Sweater KAL - Rav link - started at Christmas
  • socks
  • Mitts as part of the advent project and other items
  • Continued progress through the Stephen West brioche course
  • Progress on Battenburg - crochet but have put it here anyway as it is my only crochet project
Sewing
  • More pants!
  • Summer dress
  • Two more Esma's - Esma
  • Basic tees
  • Saguaro  - Saguaro
  • Placemats
Other crafts
I would like to do some embroidery this year and some more of the cross stitch that I started this year.   I would also like to do some more needle felting - in the first instance for mum's advent.  And throughout it all, I would love to makemy crafting as sustainable as I can alongside doing the same in other areas of my life.

So there we have it - plans for this next year - I've tried to steer away from specific pattern names as I do have my head turned all the time!

  1. Esma looks a great dress pattern on all the models they show so that will be a great addition to the wardrobe, as will your other items. Schools have broken up here for the summer so won’t be long until the English schools follow and you’ll hopefully get some nice crafting time through the summer holidays. Your list looks well balanced. Sustainability is a great goal too.

  2. My Patty Lyons brioche class is on hold until I can concentrate on it in August or maybe October. I'm worried that brioche is going to turn out like intarsia and I end up frogging the project. We will see. I look forward to hearing about your experience with the Stephen West class. Agree with not getting to tied to specific pattern as I'm always changing my mind.

  3. I love your plan and I swooned over the Soorik! You did so well on your sewing last year and your wardrobe will soon be replaces with all handmade! I have my head turned all the time too so I am trying not to committ to too much but we know how that goes!

  4. What a great list. I love the Esma dress. I looks so comfy and will be a great addition to your Me Made closet. The Soorik is gorgeous and I wish it got cold enough here in the winter so I could have one in my closet. The Festive sweater looks so complicated but I know you will make it look like it was easy.

  6. Your list is so fun with all your different coloured pens and the little illustrations! That would make me love the planning part too! I do admire that you are making things that you will wear. I’m not great at getting things to fit me and suit me.
