A Year of Projects Update - week 30

I hope everyone has has a lovely and hopeful new year.

I have had a quiet new year with a fair bit of relaxing and crafting.

Firstly I finished Hitchenbrook.

Hitchenbrook is the brown fabric item!  It is a shawl/poncho and I think it will be amazing in early spring as it gets too cold to go out without a coat but slightly too warm to wear a big winter coat.
Also in the picture are my Windschief socks by Stephen West - and I'm making good progress down the leg.  I'm using a Yorkshire spinners Christmas colourway from several years ago.
I have also been reading.  The book that has taken my attention right now is Wilding by Isabella Tree and is the story of how her and her husband started the process of returning an area of land in Sussex to the wild.  Thd area is actually about 20 minutes from here, so when I've read it I want to visit the Knepp estate to see it today.
I have a few other plans which I will reveal as I get to them!  Firstly,  I need to find a paintbrush!
Well I hope everyone has a good week 😊

  2. What a pretty cable on the poncho! Love the colors on the socks! I’m such a fan of the West Yorkshire sock yarn. It’s so soft! -Jen @ Carolina Tales

  3. What a beautiful poncho. Agree, it will be great for cool mornings/evenings. Love your Christmas progress keeper. Not sure why the sock colorway is Christmasy.

  4. I am behind but still wish you a happy new year. I am sure your poncho will come in really handy. I haven't really worn mine much but think when it comes time to start pottering about in the garden it will be good. Liz (highlandheffalump)
