A Year of Projects Update - week 29

We have snow!!
Its only a little bit but its snow nonetheless!
I've made a little progress this week.  I'm nearly finished with Daniels socks.  I got him to try them for size the other day and to see if I needed to knit any more leg - he looked very perturbed and said they were good but did I think he could have a bit more down to the toe!!!  (Just in case you were wondering I was intending to knit the rest of the sock too!)  It made me laugh anyway.
I have also made progress on the they call me spidey mitts, although I got so engrossed in the colourwork I forgot to split for the thumb!!  I am not frogging colourwork, so I put it in when I realised.  It should be fine - I was intending to make them a little shorter than it said anyway - not anymore!
Well, we have played snowballs and the snow is beginning to melt, so we are now in having coffee and a cake.  It's Thomas's birthday next week, so it's busy, busy, busy at the moment, making cakes and putting party bags together.
Have a good week and do catch up with the rest of our group here.

  1. Enjoy the snow, ours lasted a day before it froze and then we had just lots of hard ice that the children couldn't enjoy. I'm smiling at the socks, its good of him to check your intentions on knitting further! Love how the colourwork on the spidey mitts are turning out and I guess your now aiming for the longer to grow into kind of mitts :) Enjoy the birthday next week.

  3. Kids are so funny. I know Daniel was being very serious and I love that about children. They don't know how funny and happy they make us. Your spidey mittens are beautiful.

  5. You can have all our snow if you want! Seems like it's been snowing non-stop for the past week! I don't mind it generally but it certainly plays havoc with my commute!

Yes, I agree with Daniel, you really should do a bit more down to the toe LOL!

  6. I love a fresh dusting of snow. It makes everything pretty, but it doesn't feel ominous like a thick blanket does (even though blankets of snow are beautiful, too. ;^) The They Call Me Spidey mitts are great! So fun looking.

I hope you have a great week getting ready for Thomas's birthday!
