A Year of Projects - Week 52 Year Review

So here we are again, at the end of the YOP year.  For those of us that run from July to July, this is the (often surprising) review post.
I thought I would group my finished objects this year before looking at my list.  So first up are some of the garments.
From the top and clockwise are Waving Lace, Rhombing Around, sunhat for Daniel, Hitofude, Spidey mitts and the Dominique skirt.  Of these, the two pieces for Daniel have been a definite hit, and Hitofude and Rhombing Around are my two favorite garments that have been worn regularly.

A selection of my sewing makes.

Socks are my new favorite project.  I don't have a favorite of these - I love them all!

And a selection of test knits I have undertaken this year

And so - to check the list.

A Year of Projects Update - week 51

We finally have a sunny morning here in the UK (possibly not everywhere - apologies if you are in the UK and not having a sunny morning!)  We are going to see the animals in the wildlife centre later and making the most of the weather.
We are so close to the end of the YOP year, next week will be the round up week for those of us working from July to July and then we will be posting our new lists for the coming year.  I always love the planning part possibly more than any other part.  If you would lie to join us please do over here.
WIP's
I only have WIP's this week.  I have been making progress on Zinone.
I'm nearly at the joining for the body.
I finished one sock for Thomas using up the last of my Arne and Carlos and now am making progress on the second.
And finally I did a bit more on my sock club socks - this is the project I intend to work on this week.
Acquisitions
I have no yarny acquisitions this week, just camping!  We are going to go camping this year and I have ordered a whole load of things for that - I think we are nearly ready to go!
I think that is it for this week, hope everyone has a good one!

A Year of Projects Update - week 50

Gosh, the end of our year is rushing towards us!  And I was thinking I had very little progress to show (which is partially true) but then I remembered I had a FO.
FO's
My boxy is done!  As I have said before once you have got through the body, the rest is plain sailing. She is not blocked yet  but I think you get the idea.

Another project I realised (for two weeks running) I had not fully revealed despite it being released, was my test knit.  So here he is - this is Farraige by Ruth McKeon.

For me, as a non shawl wearer, this was perfect.  It is long, so I can wear it like a scarf, and it is light as it is knit in a laceweight yarn, so I can wear it in the summer as a lightweight layer.  In fact I wore it to Brighton the other day and it was perfect.

WIP's
I still have lots of WIP's that I will be working on in the next few days, but I have little progress to show at the moment.  The socks (both mine and Thomas's) have had no knitting done on them.  I have done a few more repeats on Zinone and now am onto the stockinette section so this should start to fly now.  I am nearly done with the present for a friend and it is her birthday in July so I will be able to show it then.  I have not knitted on my Christmas jumper... but I have moved it to a project bag and put it back on the needles (I removed the tips for another project)!
Acquisitions
I forgot to take pictures of my acqusitions this week, I will show then soon.  I had to buy a skein from The Knitting Goddess as it was called Scooby Doo and my boys love Scooby and they are into knitted socks - so it had to be bought!
So the YOP year is drawing to an end, do come and join us for the next year.  We are a very friendly group and you will find lots of encouragement each week.  As you can see from the rest of the group, we are not very formal in terms of your list, you can organise it how you wish and alter it as you go (much as I do!)  See for yourself here

A Year of Projects Update - week 49

Yet another week has flown by.  It has been half term break here this week and we have got lots done. We had lots of days out - we went down to Brighton - we went to the cinema - we are going to the beach today.
WIP's
On the first, I started the Outfit Along, which you can find out more about here.  I have actually made the skirt already, but the material is very thin (in my impatience I found something I had in stash) but I like it anyway and I did my first buttonhole.
I also CO Zinone and am currently making my way through the lace back.  I am going to do a half lace back and full length.
I have also made great progress on boxy this week.  Although I had read through the pattern it wasn't until I got close to the end of the miles of stockinette that I realised that once done I was nearly there as it only has very short sleeves (as a result of the boxy shape).  So I am nearly done, just a second sleeve and neckband to go.
I haven't worked on any socks this week, so hopefully, I will get back to these this week.
I also started on a present for one of my friends, just in case she reads this I will not post it here until she has it.
FO's
The only finished items I have are not knitting.  I have my skirt (Dominique by Tilly And the Buttons), I made lots of soap this week and a cake!!

Acquisitions
Well the yarn diet went completely out the window this week and took a walk around the garden.  I went to Brighton and had to go to YAK which is probably the closest and best yarn store near to me and I bought all of this.
I had to get some LITLG yarn that I have heard so much about, a ball of zauberball and the boys picked some John Arbon dk for winter hats.  Just a sneak peak at the moment but I'm sure they will come out soon.  I also chose some more fabric from Ditto Fabrics for some more skirts.
So there you have it - my crafting week.  For more of the same, visit here.  We are soon to wind up this year and start on the next so do come and join us.
