A Year of Projects Update - week 50

Gosh, the end of our year is rushing towards us!  And I was thinking I had very little progress to show (which is partially true) but then I remembered I had a FO.
FO's
My boxy is done!  As I have said before once you have got through the body, the rest is plain sailing. She is not blocked yet  but I think you get the idea.

Another project I realised (for two weeks running) I had not fully revealed despite it being released, was my test knit.  So here he is - this is Farraige by Ruth McKeon.

For me, as a non shawl wearer, this was perfect.  It is long, so I can wear it like a scarf, and it is light as it is knit in a laceweight yarn, so I can wear it in the summer as a lightweight layer.  In fact I wore it to Brighton the other day and it was perfect.

WIP's
I still have lots of WIP's that I will be working on in the next few days, but I have little progress to show at the moment.  The socks (both mine and Thomas's) have had no knitting done on them.  I have done a few more repeats on Zinone and now am onto the stockinette section so this should start to fly now.  I am nearly done with the present for a friend and it is her birthday in July so I will be able to show it then.  I have not knitted on my Christmas jumper... but I have moved it to a project bag and put it back on the needles (I removed the tips for another project)!
Acquisitions
I forgot to take pictures of my acqusitions this week, I will show then soon.  I had to buy a skein from The Knitting Goddess as it was called Scooby Doo and my boys love Scooby and they are into knitted socks - so it had to be bought!
So the YOP year is drawing to an end, do come and join us for the next year.  We are a very friendly group and you will find lots of encouragement each week.  As you can see from the rest of the group, we are not very formal in terms of your list, you can organise it how you wish and alter it as you go (much as I do!)  See for yourself here

  1. Boxy looks like a fun knit. The shawl is gorgeous, but I have an aversion to lace-weight yarn. Maybe I should get over it so I could knit this.

  2. Yayy for having boxy done, I'm beginning to wrap up all my current projects so I have a clean enough slate starting off. I still adore your Farraige, it's just so gorgeous, I'm glad you posted it here because I was about to do a project love for it.

  3. Boxy is wonderful......I am drawn to nonclingy clothing. Your shawl is lovely and is one of my favorite designs by Ruth. Looking forward to next years YOP too.

  5. Oh I love your Boxy - the pattern looks super comfortable and the soft purple colour is great. Can't wait to see a modelled picture!

The shawl is pretty too. Like you I'm a non-shawl wearer but I like the openness of the pattern!

  7. The Farraige is beautiful! I'm so glad you showed some close up shots of it. The design details are pretty. Ruth creates such wonderful things. And your Boxy looks so comfy. And I love the color. Good job, Lucy.

  8. What a pretty texture on that shawl/scarf, and you picked the perfect color for this time of year. I love that finish!
