It's Finally July!

As the title suggests it is finally July - although in reality still June - it's as good as.  This means it is time to join in with a third year of Projects.  I have had my list ready for a while but have changed my mind a few times already - I don't know if that bodes well or not!  I have put my list on the page headed A Year of Projects (strangely!)  Also joined a knit-along yesterday and received my first yarn from A Stash Addict this week, so have got lots to do.
Have done little else today, apart from a bit of light gardening and making some chocolate cakes - as you can see here!!

It's Friday!

Oh how I love Fridays.  2/3 hours of knitting, glass of wine and mindless tv.  I'm hoping to finish the bag by next Friday!!  Then I have lots of ideas for the next project.

Wedding Cake

Forgot with all the knitting going on that I am currently making my brother's wedding cake. I will post a picture tomorrow of my progress, but I am as far as making the rose cones - all 40 of them.  I am awaiting an evening to start the petals and get on with it!!

A year of projects

I got so excited about what I would be making for Christmas I forgot about everything else.  I managed to get a bit of knitting in during the day today - not usually possible due to a 2 year old continually steeling the yarn!  I am currently working on a tote bag knitted in the round, which I particularly like as there are no seams to sow.  It is a lovely pattern but is taking an age to do - I will get there!!  Also ordered some lovely yarn from A Stash Addict to make a hat and some socks.  (I am liking the word `lovely` today!)
In addition to my Christmas List I have the following projects on my to do list:

  • Finish tote bag
  • Hat for me
  • Socks for me
  • Placemats
  • Scarf for the husband
  • Shawl for me
  • Winter hats for the boys

Christmas List

Have spent the week working out how to do things on a blog and putting photos onto my Ravelry notebook.  So, whilst myself and my husband catch up on a million episodes of Emmerdale, thought I would write my list of Christmas projects.

  • For Daniel and Lily - ?dragon and rabbit
  • For the sisters in law - wristwarmers
  • For my mum and brother - pot covers
  • For Thomas and Luke - crocodile scarf
  • For my mum and mil - dishcloths and bag

Most of these projects can be found in my Ravelry notebook http://www.ravelry.com/people/lucybowen

Sunday

Had a lovely day at the park today, although had to juggle one child terrified of ducks with one intent on feeding them!
On our return made a chocolate cake for father's day.  I decided to use a new recipe using hot water so it looked disgusting, like brown scrambled eggs.  Tasted fantastic though!

Day 1

Thought I would try my hand at this!  Am not totally sure what to do.
As an introduction I am 40 year old mother of two boys who likes baking and knitting although clearly not at the same time.
