A Year of Projects Update - week 6

Since I only posted on Tuesday, this has been a short week for me.  I have made some progress on my projects, but not as much as other weeks.

I have put in the most work on my All My Love ( a dk boxy winter sweater) and the mittens - the irony is not lost on me!  Since we are in the midst of the hottest and longest heat wave we have had since records began!
Oh well lets see them shall we?
All My love is knit in BFL from Triskellion yarns.  I have done the back to the bottom of the armholes and am now making my way down the front.
The mittens are Delftig by Anna Maltz (from the Marlisle book). I was going to knit these for my dad, but I think they might be too small, so I may keep these and knit him some other ones.  I shall assess the size of his hands this week when we return to the West Country to visit.
My final WIP that has had some love is my Cables Down the Back socks by Joji Locatelli.  I am more than half way along the foot and should make the heel before we go back to mums.
I haven't done much sewing this week, but I am hopeful that I will be able to cut out another Cleo by Tilly and the Buttons before we go.

Anyway that is all for this week, I may be later next week as we are away on Sunday, but I will update as soon a s I get a chance.  To see what the other members of the group have been doing, please hop over to the link on the side.

  1. The cabling on that sweater looks interesting. And what a pretty yarn. The mittens look interesting, too. I'm curious if when you "assess" the size of your dad's hands, does he know why you are doing this? Or does he even know you're doing it? :)

  2. We here, like you, are having the warmest driest summer to date and yet I'm knitting my Fintry in DK, mad I know but come the cooler weather we will be delighted with ourselves. I love the cabling detail on your All My Love and you made great progress with the socks!

  3. The sweater is so pretty in that yarn and I like the looks of it! I love me some cables! The socks are darling and the yarn is so bright and cheerful. Enjoy your travels and we'll be here when you get back. Oh, the mittens are gorgeous too!

  4. Well your sweater and mitts will be handy come winter. It is hard to knit with wool when it is very hot. I have turned to cotton and hemp knitting at the moment. The mitt pattern looks very intricate.

  5. The sweater is gorgeous in color and pattern. I love seeing cables on everything! The color is so rich and warm.

Your mittens look so cozy. I can imagine they will keep your fingers nice an toasty this winter.

The socks have really grown since last week. Good job and lots of progress on everything.

  6. I can’t even imagine knitting a sweater in all this heat. Even wool socks for that matter! Pretty colour :)

  7. It won't always be hot and you'll be prepared when the chill comes. Love love the color of the sweater!

  8. The colour of the sweater is lovely, and your mittens look very intriguing - looking forward to seeing more of that pattern.
