A Year of Projects Update - week 30

Week 30?  How did that happen?  I will have to start thinking about next years projects soon!
This week has again gone in a flash.   I finished the hat for Daniel and he has worn it to our local park to see the animals in.   He wanted a pom pom so I had to oblige.
I have done a few more rows on aiken this week and hope to be done with the body by next week.   I have also done a few rows on like a cloud,  but none that you can tell.
This next one is a busy one with parents evenings and trips out, but let's see if I can fit a bit of crafting in!
My meal planning is going very well.  I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but I wanted to be more organised in my meal planning this year.  We have been stuck in a rut of the same things last year.  I now get a fortnightly veg box and I have a planner in which to plan!  We have been having a weekly vegetarian dish and I have kept to making the bread once a week.  We have discovered several gems enroute.

  1. Daniel looks very happy with his new hat, what a great photo. I know what you mean about getting stuck in a rut with food, a fortnightly veg box sounds ideal for giving a push to look up or creative new dishes. My husband doesn’t like many vegetables...he doesn’t even like peas!!! I’m always happy to read meal suggestions/recommendations so please feel free to share these tasty gems you’ve been finding. 😁

  2. Making bread is great. I've been doing it for many years, and there's no comparison with commercial bread. It's so good. And no additives and preservatives, must be better for people. Good for you.

I know about that rut, how the fallback meal can sneakily become the standard one. It's good to break out when you can.

  3. Oh he looks like he loves that hat! Good luck with parents evening! My husband does all the cooking, so I'm just surprised with whatever is put before me...

  4. It is so gratifying when someone you knit for appreciates your work. Love the pom pom. Good choice on his part.

  6. The hat for Daniel is great. He looks so happy to have a new hat. Another knit worthy person, indeed. Glad to hear your meal planning is coming along so well. How nice to get a veg box. And you are making bread once a week! Bet it makes your home smell so yummy.

  7. Daniel looks so cute in that hat. Green is his color! Your sweater/jumper is almost done! Look at you go and meal planning too? I'm trying to eat healthier after the holidays. I have this past year and now some of my old recipes I can hardly stand...too sweet or too salty or just too rich! LOL! Good for you making your own bread too!

  8. Great hat! Also, I'd really like to hear more about your meal planning. I'm determined to eat healthier, try new dishes more often, and hopefully lose weight along the way, and right now I'm finding it a bit difficult to come up with new meal ideas. Where do you turn to for inspiration?
