A Year of Projects Update - week 6

I have FO's!  Plural!

Firstly I finished Breathing Space no. 2.

I knit this in The Wool Kitchen in merpeople.   The yarn is gorgeous and soft and I can't wait for the weather to cool down so that I can wear it.

I also finished my shortie socks.

These are knit in leftover Dragon hill fibre yarn - the same as my sock arms sweater.  When it is cooler I will show you that they match!

So now I am working on my other WIP's as my brain doesn't function fully in this heat (its between 32 and 37 at the moment - I don't do heat!)

On that note I will sign off.  I hope everyone has a great week and I will leave you with my boys pond dipping last week.

  5. Beautiful sweater and socks too. Matchy matchy!! I don't do heat well either, we are lucky here that it is sunny but usually has a nice breeze.

  6. Your jumper looks lovely and I prefer this one to your last...probably because I love the colour so much. I think some American readers won’t appreciate that most homes in the UK don’t have air conditioning. We are lucky and it’s been a really comfortable 18°-20° here and we had a lovely walk in the sunshine but still cool in the shade. Lots of younger people swimming and jumping in the river! If it were 32° I may be tempted lol.

  7. Great job on Breathing Space! So pretty! Also, your socks look great but yes...it is hot here too so no wool wearing for awhile! But I have AC so not a problem working with wool thank goodness! i do not like heat either.

  8. I just commented and then it disappeared....anyway, it is hot here too and I don't care for the heat but I have AC so I can still knit with wool but there is no wearing it in this heat! LOL! I love your Breathing Space! So lovely and the socks are darling! Stay safe and well!

  9. Wow - that sounds like some hot weather you're having in the UK. Fairly normal for here in the Midwest US, but even so... I'd be melting in those temps. Reading this, for the firt time I wonder... is AC prevalent in the UK? It's pretty normal in homes here in the US - which is why we can manage during the summers. If course, not everyone here has AC and the heat during the summer months can create emergency situations for those folks. Some cities set up "cooling stations" for the homeless. Being the child of a plumbing and heating & cooling contractor I've never known a home without air conditioning (or soft water, for that matter). We were not what I would consider rich, but I am definitely spoiled in these two areas. And before I click out and forget to mention... Your Breathing Space is fantastic! I can so imagine how fun it would be to wear when it cools down. What a great piece that will be for your wardrobe!
