A Year of Projects Update - week 19

Another week has gone by and Englanď is back in lockdown where all of the least risky places are shut and the most risky open!  By that I  mean schools and universities - I hope I  am wrong and shall eat my words!

Anyway in knitting news, I  have only really made progress on Winterberry.

I have split for the sleeves and and making my way down the body.  I am really enjoying it and the yarn is delightful (viola by John Arbon).

I did do a few rounds on my Christmas socks, but not enough to see any difference.  We went to get more fish for our tank and the shrimp are doing nicely.

And that is about it.  I hope everyone has a good week.

  1. Winterberry is really pretty. Love the cable on it. The color even makes me thing of winter holly. Your new fish are pretty. Sometimes I miss our aquarium but not the work that it took to keep it in tip top shape.

  2. Great minds? I did not get around to everyone last week either! I love Winterberry and that color yarn is perfect for the name too. My daughters school shut down for 1 week....not sure what that's going to do. They're doing all virtual but my daughter will go to the classroom to do it. She has the 2 boys and the hubby at ho me. We can barely talk on the phone without being interrupted so there is no way she could teach from there! The administrators are really crazy with some of their decisions. She had to work all weekend just to get ready for Monday and then she'll probably have to work next weekend to get ready for them to come back into the classroom. Blessing to all of you on the front lines! Stay safe and stay well. Your fish are so pretty! Who cleans the tank?

  3. Oh, your Winterberry is beautiful, Lucy. And that picture is yummy - both the yarn and the candy peeking out under the sweater. :) I have heard some strange things here, too, with schools and COVID. I'm just glad I'm at a different stage in life and don't have to worry too much about it, personally. I do feel for you all in work situations where you can't just avoid it.

  5. I love that colour you are making winterberry in, its not a pattern I’m familiar with but it looks great so far and I like the cable details. Pretty fish! Way back when I used to be the HR manager for Blue Planet Aquarium on the Wirral and Deep Sea World north of Edinburgh and during my lunch break used to love watching the smaller pretty coloured fish. A great way to relax staring and fish swimming around in their care free world.

  6. Oops, looks like the blog god ate my previous post.

The pattern on your Winterberry looks amazing. I'm sure you will really enjoy it when it's done. I look forward seeing how it progresses.

  7. Love the sweater, and the color! It'll be a nice spot of color on a drab wintery day.

Schools in my area have been virtual since starting back up in September. With things spiking the way they've been in the states, I don't know if my children will be back in the buildings before the start of next school year.

  8. We have increased lock down procedures here now too for the next two (at least) weeks. No visitors inside the house at all, and no meeting people even outside. Our numbers are getting close to 1000 per day. Sigh. I remember when back in June we were getting down to 11 a day. I hope this second wave gets under control. Take care.
