A Year of Projects Update - week 21

Oh my!  Another week has flashed by and I don't feel like I have done that much.

I have done a few more rows on Saknes.

I have finished another wondrous wash mitt - just another 4 to go!

Otherwise, I have started sewing my next skirt - a must as I needed the pattern pieces for my Christmas dress that I would like to start soon.

I also finished a project that has been ongoing for a while.  When my grandma passed away and my mum was going through her things, she asked me if there was anything I would like.  The only thing I said I wouldn't mind is a picture that always hung in hers and my grandads living room.  Well mum found it for me but it was in a bit of a state, having been hung and moved around for about 50 years.  This week I finally got myself together and with some supplies from a picture framer got it back on the wall with as many of the original fittings as possible.

So that is my week - hope you all have  great one!

  1. I think the closer we get to the end of the year the shorter the weeks are. Maybe because there is so much less daylight. Good job on getting the picture ready for hanging. What a lovely reminder of your grandparents.

  2. What a lovely picture reminder of your grandparents home. Love the color you have chosen for your Saknes.

  3. Your sweater looks like it's getting big and every little bit of knitting gets you closer. I can only knit or crochet for so long. I take it in bits and pieces.
The picture you have is lovely.I have some old-fashioned pictures in my house that I cherish. The fact that yours is from your grandparents makes it especially meaningful. Have a good week!

  4. Every little bit of progress counts, so all is good! I had one painting I requested from my grandparents' estate too. None of my mum's generation wanted it but it was something I remember with fondness from childhood and features a curving road with a red barn that looks like their farm to me. Lots of good memories mixed up in those inheritances. :)

  5. What a great memory from your grandparents. The picture is lovely.

  6. I love that you reframed and rehung that painting. It is so great to have such memories restored in our homes!

  7. Your sweater looks great! I'm excited to see your shirt and dress in the coming weeks.

I love that you were able to rehab the picture from your grandparents house. I hope it brings you joy and fills you will fond memories.

  8. What a lovely way to remember your grandparents. I’m so impressed with your sewing so look forward to seeing your new skirt and dress.
