Hurrah for the holidays!

It's been a couple of weeks since I blogged midweek, and I have to say, I have really missed reading what everyone has been up to.  I know I can still read the blogs without posting myself, but it just feels nicer to be fully part of it.
Well anyway, it's the holiday so I shall aim to blog most weeks now.
I've finished several things since my last midweek blog; my Hector socks, a christening present and my second chance frog cowl

This week I have been mainly working on a hat for the stall.  I love this sirdar snuggly snowflake, it makes such a gorgeous fabric, but it's not the easiest to work with so I won't be making anything big!

My model is a little too big, but there we go - he's all I have!!
I have also been making my way through Vianne, but I will not make the deadline (not an issue as I wouldn't have entered for prizes anyway, it's just for motivation.
We made our way to the library this week, mainly to get books for the boys summer reading challenge.  But I picked up two myself, whether I get through even one in three weeks we will see!

We broke up on Wednesday and I got myself home to finish Megan.  I did finish and I am so pleased with it.
I am not going to show a modeled shot until I have finished Vianne to go with it.  And Vianne is here...
I also finished the christening present (the cheeky Kea) without pockets (what does a six month old want with pockets!?)

I finished my second chance frog cowl and I have finished clue one on the mystery socks (only 3 clues behind)!

I have already added several things to the list - 2 PE bags and 2 pencil cases to sew for the boys and I have been completely seduced by Byeline by Jimenez Joseph (so much so I had to purchase a little yarn to add to some I had)!
I have started my furry hats - I want some for the stall in November, I should be able to knock a few up by then.
So this week, the plan is to knit clue 2 for the socks, ?knit both sleeves for Vianne and finish a hat.  That will do for starters!  To see what everyone else has been up to visit us.

A Year of Projects Update - week 3

Oh the end of term is looming!  We finish on Wednesday and I can't lie, it's been a stressful year so I can't wait.
I've worked on several projects this week.  First of all, I finished Hector!

I love these and finishing these meant I could CO the mystery sock with Rachel Coopey.  The yarn for these is a Mellifera yarn, cash twist in a colour called tide - it's gorgeous.
I also CO  That Cheeky Kea as a christening present for my friends little boy.  The christening is on the 8th August, so I should have plenty of time to finish - its so small, I am remembering why I love baby knits!

I've made a little progress on my Vianne - I'm actually down to the end of the decreases and nearly onto the ribbing in the pattern, but I might knit a few more rows as I don't want it quite as cropped.

I have knitted a few more rows on the second chance frog cowl.

I am hoping to get quite a lot done today and get on with some sewing as we are going to have a quiet day at home following some rather busy weekends.

A Year of Projects Update - week 2

I didn't think I would be able to update this week - we have been having computer issues!!  My laptop is in computer hospital and realising we couldn't cope, we bought a new one!
Progress this week has been a little hampered as I have been trying to sort out the computer!  This also explains the pictures I took them late at night on my phone.
However, I am so close to finishing the Hector socks - I should finish them today.

My second chance frog cowl (it's called that as the yarn is frogged from another project) is also coming along nicely - I'm going to keep going until I run out of yarn.

The third project that I have worked on is my Vianne, but I have only completed a couple of rows.

Hopefully more progress should be made this next week including starting the christening present I need for the start of August!

Project WO - the conclusion!

I blogged here about the start of my project wo - the wedding outfit for my SIL's wedding.  And on Saturday came the culmination of that project.
At the moment the only picture I have of me at the wedding is this one!!  I got my son to take this one.
You may notice the material and indeed dress is different from the original plan!  It is a coco and I love it.
Now I did make lots of bits to go with the outfit which were present at the wedding; a shawl - it was so warm, I took it but didn't need it at all,
a bag - used and was very useful, but does not appear in  any picture,

a fascinator - made, but because I straightened my hair for the first time ever, it wouldn't stay in, so it wasn't warn!!
I didn't make a corsage as I made the fascinator, and decided against the knickers!!  They are on my year of projects goals so hopefully they will still get done.
I didn't make jewelry - but I did incorporate it into the dress
All in all, we had a lovely day and I'm pleased with all my makes even if very few of them got any airtime!!  I shall sign off project WO with a gratuitous shot of my boys as page boys.
