A Year of Projects Update - week 37

This week has gone by in a flash.  Thomas is better, although has lost his voice at the moment.  I have made a fair amount of progress so let's get to it!
FO's
I finished my first pair of gift socks.
These are for Lily.  I have cast on a pair for Daniel but these are not a Christmas gift so if I am going to make them all for Christmas, I need to get going.
WIP's
In addition to the socks for Daniel above I will cast on my March socks today and hopefully have enough time to cast on the second set of gift socks today.
I have made some progress on From Way Back and have now split for the sleeves.  At the moment this is the only project that I really have to concentrate on so this may wait for a while until I have some quiet time to work on it!
I have also progressed on Jokull.  I am now at the handholes.  This is getting quite a lot of love at the moment as it is chunky weight and is mindless.
In other news, the boys wanted to make a cake, so we made a 'Stampy' cake!

  1. I love how you go for texture. It shows up really well in that self-striping yarn and lovely it will be the back panel of your jumper. I can't wait to see more of your colorwork! A jumper with a colorwork yoke is on my list for this year.

  2. It all looks great - and I have never heard of a Stampy or a Stampy cake, but it looks delicious.

  3. Your projects look great, Lucy. I love how you photograph them, too. It looks like you just laid them down after working on them. They all look so lovely and inviting. The cake is cute as can be! Did you come up with that?

  4. What lovely socks! And the Jokul is awesome....someday I will do colorwork. Your other sweater is coming along but I know what you mean when you have to find time to concentrate on a certain project. I don't have children here but I have animals and they can be very intrusive at times so I have to schedule focused projects when the cats are in the basement (after 3:00 p.m.) and when the dogs have been out and are back in for ahwile...napping hopefully! LOL! I've never heard of Stampy either but he's really cute! Have a great week!
