A Year of Projects Update - week 41

We are experiencing some glorious weather here in the UK this last week or so.  Just as we go on spring break it has been very welcome.

I finished a couple of pairs of socks last week.  My March spring socks - Dumbledores Christmas stockings was the pattern and Life in the long Grass - rosehip was the yarn.  The yarn was gorgeous, you may not be able to make it our in the pictures but it is a striping colourway with green and pink stripes, each speckled in their own way.

The second pair of socks was my second gift socks - some rose city rollers for my mum.
I can also show you the test knit I carried out the other week.  These are To Darcy with Love by Knitterarium.  They were released in the week and she is now doing an Instagram KAL with them.  Really straightforward and well written pattern.

I have made some progress on Daniel's green socks (using the leftover form the test knit) - I have turned the heel now.
I have also cast on my April socks - this is Driftwood by Mina Phillips in Little French Meadow yarn in the Bertie Botts colourway - reminds me of Easter eggs.
I have also made progress on Jokull - I have done the armholes and have started the colourwork at the top.
And finally I have made progress on From Way Back.
We are going to visit my mum for the next week and I intend to take all of these, so hopefully much progress will be made.
I have been very good recently, but I got the chance to get my hand on some Stranded Dyeworks in the flamingo legs colourway and decided to treat myself to another sock blank.  I think this could become one of my summer socks!

  1. Look at you! Lots of socks done and jumpers moving along nicely too. I really like the color of your To Darcy With Love. I enjoyed the pattern too. Does your mom wear the Rose Citty Roller socks to bed? If so, do they stay on good? Looking for a nice bed sock for my mom and I love the shape of those.

  2. I love the idea of a Summer of Socks... maybe we should organize it? And I also love the idea of sock blanks - i must keep my eyes open for these at Fibre Shows. I can't wait to see how yours knits up!

You have so many awesome projects on the go. Must say I love that bright green of your test knit socks. Feels like Spring!

  3. You are a sock knitting machine!!

  4. You amaze me again! So many socks - and other knits too! It's fun seeing the different To Darcy With Love socks. Your green yarn knitted up wonderfully.

  5. You do so much and you do it so well! I love all your socks and Kniterarium's pattern is great. I love the Bertie Botts yarn and I am going to look for the Dumbledore pattern for the HP KAL as I have yarn but not HP yarn so a pattern would still qualify for #23 KAL and also Box of Socks!
I love the Jokull and From Way Back is almost finished! You are so fast! Do you knit in your sleep? LOL! Plus, I saw that Flamingo legs colorway and love it!
So glad you are having nice weather and enjoy your holiday!

  6. Your sock blank is unique. LOVE your mum's new pair of socks. The speckled toes are cute and fun. I'm sorry you were deceived a bit from the post's photos. I had to filter that wooden chair shot because I didn't know the white of the socks were blown out. I had looked at the camera when Jellybean took it and it seemed fine but when it came to editing time, I saw you couldn't see much of the socks.
