A Year of Projects Update - week 35

I'm not quite sure where this year is going!  And it just seems to be getting busier and busier.  We have just had the half term break here which was very welcome  but, of course everything happened!  Just over a week ago we had the first of a series of storms which brought a tree down in our garden.  So one job in the holiday was to get someone to get that down.  I also took charge of a new car and we did quite a lot of progress with Daniel's bedroom - carpet was laid and so just waiting for furniture now.

We did manage to do a couple of nice things - we went to the wildlife centre and went to the beach another day to hunt for fossils.

Anyway it is back to school this week, but thankfully, it is not long till half term!

Despite all of this, I have managed to do a few things this week on the crafting front.

I have finished Susurrus- this is knit in fingering and silk mohair from Countess Ablaze.  Pattern is by Joji Locatelli and was in Pompom magazine.

I love it!  Now to decide what to start next!

I also finished up my second garter blanket.

I knit this corner to corner with scraps of yarn held double to make a worsted/chunky type of weight.  It's on my lap now and is lovely and warm - perfect as now the storms have passed it is now cold.

Before I start any other big projects  I want to knit some yoga socks, make some progress on my festive sweater kal and have made a start on some sewn dungarees.

I will be getting out into the garden in a while to do some tidying  but other than that I shall be relaxing today!

I hope everyone has a good week.

  1. Your finished jumper and blanket look great. These storms just keep coming don’t they ☹️ A fossil hunt trip to the beach sounds like fun though so I’m glad you managed to get out and enjoy some of your half term break.

  4. Your jumper and blanket are wonderful. What a great idea you had for the blanket. Sounds like you guys had a nice mid term break. Too bad a tree had to take up some of your time though.
