A Year of Projects Update - week 13

It's been a bit of a strange one this week.   The queen's funeral was on Monday, which we watched most of.  The rest of the week, although shortened, seemed to stretch on forever!  Last weekend we went to the Goodwood Revival which I will talk about in a moment and today we are going to the beach to go swimming with a friend.

In terms oc progress, I have done a few more rounds on Tegna

I have also completed another motif on my festive yoke KAL dress  but not enough to photo.
While we were at Goodwood (which was fabulous - 2 days of dressing in period and Period car racing!) I spotted this jacket/cardigan.

I took a photo to remind me - as I knew I could make something like that (as you do as a knitter!)  I also thought I had a similar pattern on my YOP list.  As it turned out it wasn't on the YOP list  but I had bought ghe pattern and that is See You There by Joji Locatelli.
As you can see I have printed the pattern and bought my yarn - Gilliat by de Rerum Natura.   I havd resisted the urge to cast on as I can't have 3 sweaters on the needles at once - none would get finished!
Anyway,  must finish up as I need to make a flask of hot chocolate to accompany our sausage baps our friend will make on her camping stove whilst at the beach!  Have a great week.

  1. OK, that's a new one for me - hot chocolate at the beach! We have no beach here in Ohio and when I think of beach I think of Florida so I'm thinking cold lemonade! I love that pattern by Joji so thanks for sharing. 3 sweaters on needles!!! The Queen's passing is sad but I hope King Charles and Prince William bring you joy.

  2. I’m always seeing things and not buying them because ‘I could knit that myself’ but I never actually do it. Well done on getting a picture to remind you!

  3. You have a good eye! Seeing a sweater on someone and then finding the pattern to match it. WOW! Very impressive. I only watched a snippet of the Queens funeral when she was at Westminster Abbey. It really tore at my heart. I am with Maureen, when I think of the beach, I think of umbrellas and cold drinks. Heck, we are still over 100F here. Hot chocolate days are still a ways off for us.

  4. I too spent the day watching the Queen's funeral. I have never seen anything like it in my life....it was magnificent! I've watched all the weddings too but nothing could compare to that funeral and the lead up to it.
That is a very cool sweater! I need to get a sweater on the needles probably not until after Christmas. Hot chocolate and swimming? I never knew they went together..lol! It sounds like fun though. Have a great time!

  5. Isn't it funny, when I read of hot chocolate and sausage bap I thought great choice. We have a cafe at our local beach and I have hot chocolate there and sometimes a fried egg bap. I admit I am not actually swimming first, just windswept. That was a great pattern match. Good luck resisting casting on. Liz
