A Year of Projects Update - Week 46

I have managed to miss another week!  We had racing last weekend and then I ran out of time, didn't even manage to catch up with everyone.

WIP's
No FO's this week, but a lot of progress has been made.
I have progressed on my boot socks, I am using a pattern called Totally Mint by Katya Frankel.  These should be completed by next week.
I have also cast on my May socks - these are Dobbys Hidden socks by Amy Meeks.  I have deliberately hidden the leg as the point of the pattern is that there are no pictures and it is a surprise.  The only slight issue is that the slip stitches have made it quite tight, but I think that blocking will help - I hope.
I have also made  little progress on Breathing Space.
Hopefully I will get the May socks completed in a few days as I have signed up to another test knit.  It is again for Knitterarium and I hope tho cast those on this weekend.  The yarn I will be using is some I got in a secret santa by Hazel knits.
So what have we been doing?  It was Daniel's birthday yesterday, so we had a football party that he loved.
Before the racing last weekend, we took a little trip down the road to Brighton.  Amy of Stranded dyeworks was doing a trunk show at YAK in Brighton (and I do like YAK anyway!)  And I picked up this little lot.  A couple of yarns from Eden Cottage to do a stripey sweater I have my eye on, the special yarn shop day yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners and three skeins from Amy.  The blue and green, the boys picked out an the orangey one is for me!
I think that is quite enough.  I have some sewing plans for the next few weeks, but I shall show you that next week, and I will be back next week.  Hope everyone's week is lovely and crafty.

  1. I just love all the socks. Those hidden socks has me wanting to go and pick up the pattern and start on them. I love a surprise pattern. I really like the yarn for the test knit. It should work up splendidly.

  2. Beautiful socks! I have many going, but none are near done!
Eden Cottage! I am jealous. It is hard to find in the US. But maybe that's a good thing; I can't resist that stuff!

  5. I really think you have some of those knitting needles like Mrs. Weasley has that knit all by themsleves! Your socks are gorgeous and love your new yarns. I think YAK is a favorite shop of Little Bobbins too. Happy Birthday to the birthday boy!
