And my first shorty socks for me are done.  I love these - so much so I have yet to take them off since I finished them.
So that, is that.  The winds up 2016/2017. Next week I shall unveil next year's list, which is always exciting.  Can't wait to see everyone else's round up (that also finish this week).

A Year of Projects Update - week 51

I am getting increasing excited about my new list!  I have ideas flying around I am finding it hard to concentrate on anything else!  If you are interested in joining us and want to start at the start of July, then head over to the group on Ravelry and join up.  Erin has come up with some great banners as always - thank you, Erin - I just need to choose which I will use.
A quick weather update - it is blazing sunshine here.  I am not a heat person but I am not complaining, although as a country not use to the heat we have no air conditioning - I am constantly sweaty (TMI - sorry).

FO's
I have two.  These were going to be a gift knit and a pair for Thomas, however, I think they will be too small for the recipient, so I have given them to Daniel.
WIP's
Breathing Space is coming along, but looks no different - so will report back in July when I shall hopefully, nearly be done.
I have a HO.
These are my June socks - which are Hermiones everyday socks knit in a stranded dyeworks sockblank in flamingo legs.

I also cast on some shorty socks out of leftover yarn - I think both yarns are by the Knitting Goddess.
And that is it for this week.  I will be back next week with my round up post and then I shall be presenting next year's list - hurrah!

A Year of Projects Update - Week 50

The end of the year is definitely looming - the YOP year that is!
We are all back to school here for the last half term and the weather this week has been very strange, even for the UK.  We had torrential rain to start the week and now this end of the week has been glorious sunshine again - still - not complaining.
WIP's
I have no FO's this week again, but  much progress has again been made on my WIP's.
My gift socks and Thomas's socks are the furthest along.  I have turned the heel and am now on the ribbing - I hope these will be done in the near future.
My Breathing space is also coming along nicely, I am on the endless stripes, but it is good fun.
And finally, my flamingo legs socks are coming along from the sock blank.  I am doing these one at a time as they are from a sock blank.  The pattern is Hermiones everyday socks.
You can also see in this photo my latest acquisition.  I won a prize!  I won the May Harry Potter KAL prize with Inside Number 23 with my Dobbies Hidden Socks.  The yarn is beautiful (from Sinister Yarns), and I've no doubt, will be a pair of socks themselves soon.

Actually just realised I do have an FO!  The test knit I completed the other week has been released - it is My Dearest, Loveliest Elizabeth by Knitterarium.  They are fabulous and I see more of these in my future.

A Year of Projects Update - week 49

Despite all that is going on in the world, we have had a lovely week.  Me and the boys went camping for 3 days down to the seaside city of Brighton.  We walked to the marina on the first day after we had set up camp to have some tea.  And on the second day we got a bus to the city centre.  We had such a nice time I really don't want to return to work, but I have to bear in mind there are only 7 weeks left before the summer holidays and I am lucky to have a job that allows us to do these sorts of things.
WIP's
I only have wip's this week, but they are all coming along nicely.
I have moved Thomas's socks onto a circular needle together with a pair of gift socks that are the same size. I am just turning the heel on all four.
I can't remember what yarn the stripey is but the blue is from West Yorkshire Spinners.
I have cast on my June socks.  These will be done one at a time and are from the sock blank from Stranded dyeworks in flamingo legs.
And my third and final wip is Breathing Space by Veera Valimaki.
I have got to the end of the short rows and now am ready to do some stockinette!  The yarn is mainly by Travel Knitter with a contrast that I dyed myself
I did have some acquisitions this week - I got some yarn for Christmas jumpers from John Arbon Textiles, but I will show you when I have it ready.
Hope you have had a good week, happy crafting and stay safe.
