A Year of Projects Update - week 13

I've made a little more progress this week.
First up - I finished the test knit!  Yay, on Friday as well, so easily within the deadline.  I can't show you yet but I'm sure it will be soon.  They are lovely, the yarn is gorgeous and I can't wait to show you!
So, with that finished, I cast on my next project.  Jesse by Rachel Coopey, my first pair of colourwork socks.  I am using some more of my yarn from the frogged cardi, so it is all going to good use.

And that is about it from this week.  Yesterday we went for a driving experience for my husband at a track near us called Thruxton.  Can't speak highly enough about it - it was incredibly well run and everyone was very friendly and hubby had a great time.  Here we are - my husband is driving the jag behind us!
This week I hope to cut the material for my third sailor top, make progress on the socks and Rhombing Around and cast on for my first double knitting project - wish me luck!

  1. Oh I can't wait to see more on the Rachel Coopey, I like colourwork I've just not tried it yet in socks but I have been looking at a pair of colourwork socks for next months challenge in SKA. The driving experience looks and sounds like great fun and best of luck with the double knitting project, I've no doubt you'll do great and double knitting can be very addictive.

  2. Good luck with the colourwork and with the double knitting. For the colourwork you could flip your sock tube inside out while you knit - it helps give the floats more ease and can reduce the likelihood of puckering.

  3. Wishing you lots of luck! Have not really tried colourwork accept with a disastrous owl pattern once which I well and truly frogged , may be one day I will try again. Looking forward to seeing how your socks knit up.

  4. The driving experience sounds like fun. What great timing you have for taking that picture! I look forward to watching your socks grow. :^)

  5. Ha, love that - your husband is in the jag, what fun!! It feels good to make use of frogged wool doesn't it? I recently bought one of Rachel's books, I'm looking forward to starting a pair v soon.
