A Year of Projects Update - Week 52

I quite like this - I think we should have a 53 week year every year!  This way I get to do 51 updates as well as the round up post and start up post!
This is going to be a short one this week as we are off in a bit for Thomas birthday present (it was his birthday in January but we are now going to the race track for his first driving lesson)
It may be short but I have a FO and a HO!
I have finished my Vianne.  I knit this in John Arbon Textiles Viola which is delightful.  I made several adjustments which I put on my project page on Ravelry.
This is an unblocked photo and obviously without buttons and one end to weave in!  Better photos to follow in the new YOP year
My Ho is the sock.  I finally finished my Dragon Hill Studio sparkle sock that I knit with the 9" circular needle.  I didn't love it but I didn't hate it.  However, I do hate that I have another to go - much better to do them both at once (in my eyes!)
My other shortie socks are coming along - I took them to sports day and did some work on them.  I also did a little on Sanctuary, but not enough to photo.
That will be it for this week.  I will round up next week and then it is the unveiling of the new lists if you want to go classic YOP and do July to June.

  1. I was going to say I don’t think your FO needs buttons but then realised you must have already done button holes! Doh, silly Mel! I’m yet to even attempt a pattern that involves buttons, I’ll be interested to know how well the John Arbon yarn holds up, I’ll be buying some next month but haven’t decided which base yet.

    1. I have used lots of knit by numbers that is 100% merino as is viola. The kbn pills a bit but not too bad, I imagine this may do so too. It has a bit more of a halo but is wonderful to work with as is kbn - if that helps!

  3. The Vianne is perfect and looks great on you. I agree, socks are so much better when either knit TAAT or concurrently on DPN's. I saw the photos of Thomas driving on IG! Good Grief. He is not allowed to be this old yet. BTW........isn't the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car? LOL!!!!!!

  5. What a beauty that turned out to be. I love the color and the style. I didn't know it was supposed to have buttons. It looks fine like that.
Love the striping colors on the sock. I should try 2 at a time but I don't have 2nd sock syndrome at all.

  6. I didn't notice that it needed buttons, either. Vianne is a cute sweater! And I, too, hope you find the motivation to finish your second Dragon Hill sock. (Of course, I know you will!) I really like the colors you used for that project.

  7. Vianne looks great Lucy, I love how it turned out and the short style is gorgeous, I'm really coming round to that look too in my own garments.
The sock looks great but as a two at a time I can see how disheartening having to now knit the second is.
I agree on the 53 week option too, I'm using it to squeeze in finishing a project lol.

  8. I love your Vianne! What a darling sweater, and it looks great on you. I'm thinking it would be nice as an open-front sweater, too.
